Hey, I'm Emilie, the one-woman-wonder behind Emilie Flora and I’m here to tell you about the colourful world that I’ve created. Let’s start with the name… yep, it’s mine too- I’m Emilie Flora. Giving the brand my name felt natural because it’s a direct extension of me: my love for bold colours, playful patterns and all things handmade.
Creativity has always been a huge part of my life, but the real foundations of Emilie Flora were laid at university, where I studied Textile Design and specialised in Constructed Textiles. University is where I discovered the knitting machine and instantly fell in love! I was mesmerised by how it transformed fibre into fabric faster than my hands ever could. Hours of experimenting led me to develop my unique style, full of colour, energy, and joyful texture.

About the brand

The turning point was the introduction of the Sunny Tote in 2020, this was the first piece that really took off. It gave me the confidence (and income) to leave my part-time job and go full time with Emilie Flora.
Since then, I have knitted from the garden shed, my partner’s kitchen, the spare room… and now, I have my own creative studio. It's been a whirlwind journey, but one I wouldn't trade for anything.
These days, Emilie Flora is a joyful mix of bold, handmade knitted products and cosy crochet workshops, created to spread creativity, comfort and colour far and wide.

The Products
Emilie Flora products are designed with fun, durability and innovation in mind.
A whole lot of love goes into every Emilie Flora piece to ensure it meets, and exceeds, your expectations. Every detail is thoughtfully considered, from lining the bag straps to prevent stretching, to sourcing the most durable and reliable zips.
Emilie Flora designs are inspired by a rich tapestry of influences. Bold colour, vibrant patterns and a sense of joy all come together to shape the products you see.

As a small business, Emilie Flora is committed to sustainability. Here are a few of the steps taken:
Knitted items are fully fashioned, producing minimal waste.
Fabric scraps from bag linings are repurposed into smaller items like purses.
Misknits are reused to create unique, zero-waste designs.
A manual knitting machine is used, powered entirely by hand to reduce electricity use.

Festival Season
Festival season has become a huge part of Emilie Flora - a time filled with creativity, connection and community. It all began at Glastonbury in 2023 and since then I have taken my sparkly pink disco den to amazing festivals like WOH, Shambala, Wilderness, Mostly Jazz and Moseley Folk, sharing my colourful knits with wonderful people along the way.
One of the highlights has been running the Crochet Corner at Camp Bestival, where I have introduced hundreds of festival-goers discover the joy of crochet. I spend my days trading, chatting, and creating and my nights dancing and singing. There’s truly nothing better.
